One document.
Two ways in.
Write Markdown, or shape the formatted page directly. Both panes are real editors working on the same document, so they stay in step as you type and what you save is real Markdown.
Sign in with Google to sync your library. Or clone the repo and run it with no account at all.
Standing on open source
Not a preview. A second editor.
Most Markdown tools give you a text box and a picture of the result. Here, both panes edit the same structured document underneath. Change either one and the other is rebuilt from it, so the two can't drift apart.
Equations, diagrams and sheet music. No plugins.
Write LaTeX and watch KaTeX typeset it, with a live preview while you compose. Sketch flowcharts in Mermaid and edit them in place. Even ABC music notation renders as a proper score.
- Math, inline and display, with a formula dialog that previews as you type
- Mermaid diagrams
- ABC music notation
- Callouts: Note, Tip, Important, Warning, Caution
- Tables with a grid picker
- Clickable task lists, nested ones too
- Collapsible sections
- Emoji by shortcode
Your notes, wired together.
Type [[ and a note's name to link it, or [[Note#Heading]] to point at one section. Every note shows what links in, what links out and which links are broken. Step back and the relationship map draws your whole library as a web you can search and filter.
- Backlinks, outgoing links and broken links for every note
- A relationship map with folders drawn as clusters
- Filters for unlinked notes and broken links
- Rename a heading and update every link that points to it
Built so your work doesn't vanish.
Autosave runs within seconds of every change. Each note keeps its own undo history and a trail of saved versions you can restore in place or as a copy. Delete a note by mistake and it stays recoverable for up to 30 days. And an empty editor is refused if it tries to save over a full document.
- Autosave on every note
- Undo history that survives switching notes
- Version history, restore in place or as a new note
- Signed in, earlier versions are also kept in your account for 30 days
- Open a note in two tabs and they stay in step; if both change, you choose which version to keep
Write it. Catch it. Connect it.
The small things, done properly.
Bring everything. Take everything.
Drop in Markdown, HTML, plain text, Word documents, or whole ZIP and TAR archives, password-protected ZIPs included. Paste a link from GitHub, Google Drive or Dropbox and it arrives as a note. Copy from a web page and the formatting comes along, cleaned up. When it's time to leave, take any note with you, or your entire library as one ZIP with its folders intact.
Costs nothing. Hides nothing.
The hosted app is free and the code is on GitHub under CC BY-NC 4.0. A Pro plan with more room is on the way.
